After working as a translator for the U.S. Army, an Iraqi beauty queen fled to America and became a U.S. citizen. She made a special announcement for “crazy far left and woke” politicians.
Born in Baghdad, Sarah Idan grew up under the tyranny of Saddam Hussein. She recognizes the tell-tale signs of a nation embracing some of the concepts that lead to such oppression. Since fleeing Iraq and becoming a proud U.S. citizen, Idan made a major announcement revealing how she plans to help protect her new home from such a threat.
Idan made a name for herself by competing in Miss Universe, but she began receiving death threats after posting a selfie with Miss Israel, Adar Gandelsman, which caused a stir in Islamic countries. Idan then served as a translator for the U.S. Army before fleeing to America and obtaining her citizenship. Incredibly, her experiences have compelled her to speak out against the political left.
Idan announced that she planned to run for Congress in California, the New York Post reports. However, she isn’t simply trying to turn her popularity into a political career. In fact, she is going after the frontrunners of the far left.
“I don’t stand for your anti-American, antisemitic, Muslim Brotherhood agenda, using this democracy to further your…Islamic socialism goals of dividing and weakening our country,” Idan tweeted, calling out several leftists.
Idan has consistently opposed prominent Democrats, arguing that they do not represent the values of American-loving immigrants.
“They hate when I say anything good about this country, when I say I love it and have rights here,” she fumed. “They want to hear you say, ‘No, this is a horrible country, a horrible government, and we have no rights.’ They’re bitching about everything and playing the victim all the time – just shut up.”
Idan’s priority is to preserve the American values that have made our nation great, contrasting them with the oppression that she suffered in a country supported by the progressive left.
“They [other Americans] did not have the hardships that we had – being an immigrant, coming from Iraq, living under a dictatorship, having absolutely no voice no rights, and I couldn’t even voice my concerns. I came here [and] I’m treated as an equal to every person I meet on the street. I have a voice, I have a platform,” she told Fox News.
She explained that Democrats take the freedoms they often disparage and openly oppose for granted.
“I can say anything I want without the fear of being killed of executed. There are a million reasons to be a proud American, and I think a lot of people sadly take it for granted.”
Idan hopes to run as a classically liberal candidate, targeting the immigrant population and other minority voices who feel mispresented by the cookie-cutter progressives.
“We need fresh people in office to take out the communists, pushing crazy policies,” said Idan. “I may have been born in Iraq, but my soul is American.”
Idan has noted the “evil” permeating through the state of California, including woke curricula in public schools and the push for communism. She also opposes the left’s lax response toward criminal justice.
Sarah Idan hopes to be a unifying voice for immigrants, classical liberals, and moderates. Her base would include those who love America and desire to preserve the constitutional values that have prospered people like herself.
The former beauty queen’s candidacy just might be a step in the right direction for Californians. Hopefully, more classical liberals like Idan will rise up and speak out against the progressive left’s political agenda.
