Teachers Take White Privilege Course, Parents Fight Back On Their Behalf

Teachers were forced to complete a course on “white privilege,” which teaches that “only white people can be racist.” However, as soon as parents heard about the controversial training session, they stood up to defend the beloved teachers in the best way possible.

In an effort to raise performance levels, Tennessee teachers in a dozen of Hamilton County’s lowest-scoring public schools were informed that they would be taking a special training course. They soon discovered that they would be lectured by former NFL player Robert Jackson on their own racial privilege.

The extremely privileged black man chastised white teachers for benefiting from systematic racism, which is allegedly the reason for problems in the black community, especially the schools’ failing grades, according to The Chattanoogan. His presentation claimed that only whites can be racist while the slides included numerous radical claims but provided no supporting evidence.

A slide on white privilege said: Less likely to be followed, interrogated or searched by law enforcement; Skin tone will not affect their credit or financial responsibility; When accused of crime, portrayed as good person; Don’t lose opportunities when mistakes are made.

A slide on Racism said: People of color cannot be racist because they lack the institutional power to affect white lives; Even if minorities sometimes complain about whites, such complaints serve as coping mechanisms to withstand racism rather than actual anti-white bias; Even when minorities express or practice racism against whites, they are not racists.

After the wealthy professional athlete was finished attributing a nefarious motivation to an entire demographic of people, the teachers were left feeling vilified and maligned. However, most of the teachers contacted by reporters refused to go public with their opinions, fearing retaliation from the same institution that Robert Jackson claimed favors their success based on their skin color.

Since educators feared reprimand from their superiors and had to remain silent, their students’ parents decided to intervene. Angry parents flooded the district with concerned calls, prompting the county commissioner to personally confront the superintendent for approving of discriminatory training.

Hamilton County District 8 Commissioner Tim Boyd tweeted, “Superintendent should be present in front of the Commissioners next Wednesday morning to explain this to us in person. No excuses. I will be anxiously waiting for Dr Johnson’s public explanation.”

After photos surfaced of the objectively racist presentation, the district was forced to release a statement. Seeing the mass outrage, the Hamilton County Department of Education immediately back-peddled, suggesting that the training was actually intended to help teachers better reach minority students, not to racially abuse white faculty members, WRBC-TV reports.

Spokesperson Tim Hensley with Hamilton County Schools said that the slides were just misinterpreted. In a statement, Hensley said, “Hamilton County Schools regrets that there have been misinterpretations of a presentation today to Opportunity Zone Learning Community teachers.  The presentation was actually about how adverse childhood experiences can impact behavior in the classroom and methods to have effective classroom management… The slides are being misrepresented as a presentation on white privilege.”

Of course, citizens weren’t buying Hensley’s excuse that the slides were “misrepresented as a presentation on white privilege,” especially since several slides were titled as such. Fortunately, they are still holding the district accountable for such an egregiously radical and politically-motivated teaching that is purely based on ideology and not fact.

One individual who wasn’t afraid to speak up for the teachers was District 1 school board member Rhonda Thurman. On behalf of the educators in attendance, she explained that most were upset by the baseless claims Jackson’s presentation made.

“The teachers deserve better than this,” said Thurman. “I’m very angry that we are pitting races against each other. We are supposed to judge people by the content of their character not the color of their skin, and that is exactly what is happening here.”

Sadly, such teaching breeds animosity, validating those who perceive themselves as victims of institutional racism while planting the seed of victimhood in those who never saw themselves as victims in the first place. Additionally, it warns minorities that, no matter how hard they work, they will always be held back by an inherently racist system. So, why bother attempting to achieve anything?

Of course, whatever teachers are learning is being passed down to their students. Now, education is trending toward discouraging progress and instilling defeatism. The classrooms that used to invoke the “you can do anything you put your mind to” mantra are instead encouraging students to blame their peers for their failures.

The fact that Robert Jackson has made millions of dollars and is now lecturing white people on their own privilege is at odds with his own lifestyle. Disturbingly, this racial indoctrination is already in the public school system, making homeschooling and charter schools look better each day.
