Black Lives Matter activists were caught on video, harassing young girls on the street over their “white privilege.” A megaphone-wielding woman ridiculed their appearance as the group of white children headed to an event that apparently outraged the BLM. The footage has left many viewers appalled.

Carmen M Jones drew a lot of attention when she led a Black Lives Matter protest outside the Kentucky International Convention Center in downtown Louisville, Kentucky. During the event, a group of young white girls caught Jones’ attention, and she had no qualms about telling the children and everyone within earshot of her megaphone exactly what she thought about them and their parents.

In fact, Jones and her fellow BLM activists were accused of harassing the group of young girls over their alleged “white privilege” as the children walked into a cheerleading competition. Video footage from the event seemingly supports those allegations. As a group of cheerleaders crossed the street, Jones spelled out a message for them, speaking into her megaphone for all to hear, WDRB reported.

“The reason why you get to be here in these pretty little gorgeous outfits and your gorgeous hair and your gorgeous bows is because of your white privilege,” Jones said. “Breonna is dead. Black mothers are burying their babies while white mothers send their daughters to cheer competitions,” she added, referring to Breonna Taylor, who died in 2020 after being shot by police. “They don’t give a f*** about y’all!” Jones yelled as another group of girls headed into the cheerleading competition.

Officers returned fire after Taylor’s boyfriend fired his gun thinking he and Taylor were robbery targets. Police suspected Taylor’s apartment was being used to traffic drugs, but no drugs or money were found during the search. The incident ignited public outrage and protests around the country. As the protesters for racial justice held signs and shouted chants containing profanities as the children walked in and out of the building, Jones also appeared to command the cheerleaders to “do something black today with your white privilege,” according to The Blaze. In a second profanity-laced video, Jones is heard hollering, “We are not afraid of you! We are not intimidated by you!” as she apparently addresses the police.

In the various clips from the event, a protester is seen with a sign that reads, “F*** the police,” and another protester is also seen holding a rifle as the activists face down a group of police officers in front of the convention center. The Louisville police reportedly made three arrests at the protest. Among the charges were disorderly conduct and obstructing a highway.

The entire ordeal left parents angry and some of the children upset over the comments made. Protesters “were badgering [the kids] all the way in the door,” according to one unhappy dad, who only identified himself by his first name “Rob” and did not show his face on camera. He told WDRB that his oldest daughter “cried for about an hour” after the interaction and said, “You could see it affected all these kids.”

Although Rob admitted that the protesters have a right to be there, he said he felt they should have left the children out of it. “If there’s a problem within life, you keep it between adults,” he explained. “You don’t take kids and add them into the problems. It had nothing to do with them. Even if you have something that you’re passionate about. That wasn’t the way to go about it.”

Of course, Carmen M Jones felt differently, telling the news station that she and her fellow protesters stand by their methods. “Yes, I did tell them, ‘Don’t be somebody that my child is going to have to fight.’ Because right now I’m fighting the grandchildren, the great-grandchildren of people’s ancestors who didn’t do right,” she declared.

“Breonna Taylor will never be able to have a child to be able to take to a cheer competition,” Jones continued. “If black kids are children enough, and child enough, and mature enough to go through the things that we go through as children, then their children are children enough, child enough, and mature enough to learn about their privilege.”

Carmen M Jones doesn’t see that her methods are very problematic if she hopes to gain support for her cause. To go directly after children just because of the color of their skin isn’t going to sit well with most people, and it shouldn’t. What’s more, they are children with impressionable minds. Now, ask yourself what impression Jones just made on these little girls. Simply put, you don’t end hate with more hate, and that was the only thing she projected on these young minds.
