An accused rapist was desperate to escape the police when they arrived at his hotel room. However, when he tried jumping through the glass of his sixth-floor window to escape, he quickly regretted his decision.
A hotel employee in Ohio notified the police after suspecting that a female guest was in danger. Blue Ash police were told that the woman was acting strange and looked like she was in distress. Officers got more than they bargained for when they confronted 19-year-old Onjre Damon George.
According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, a front desk attendant called police to report that a troubled young woman had signaled for help while with a male guest in the lobby of the Quality Hotel Conference Center Cincinnati Blue Ash. The attendant mouthed the words “Do you need help?” to which the woman nodded.
“She stated she noticed a male and female and that the female looked unwell. She stated she was discreetly able to ask the female if she was okay and the female used body language to indicate that something was wrong,” the press release said.
When police got the woman away from George and questioned her, she told them that she had been raped and held against her will in the hotel room. Officers noted that she had bruises all over her head and body. As such, they brought the allegations to the accused. However, when they confronted George, he attempted to make a run for it.
Seconds after realizing that he had been exposed, George attempted a getaway. The suspect bolted for the window of the sixth-floor hotel room, jumping toward the glass at full speed. It was then that he discovered that such buildings are required to reinforce their windows so that patrons aren’t able to throw themselves out.
Thanks to an officer’s bodycam video, George is captured making a break for the window as one of the officers casually asks, “Where are you going?” George’s body can be heard bouncing off the reinforced glass with a thud as one of the officers snickers at his pathetic attempt. As he reels backward, the suspect tries one last time to avoid his fate.
“Look, I’m about to jump. I’m about to jump,” George says with a shaky voice. “Don’t tase me,” he tells the approaching officer before the video cuts to his arrest.
George’s victim alleges that her attacker beat her and prevented her from calling 911 in the hotel room. She says he then choked her until she fell unconscious. He was been charged with forcible rape, kidnap to engage in sexual activity, and assault. He was booked in the Hamilton County Jail on a $205,000 bond, according to Fox News.
Thankfully, the hotel employee recognized the woman’s distressed behavior and called the police. Had it not been for that attendant, far worse could’ve happened to the victim.
It’s safe to say that Onjre Damon George has learned his lesson, not only becoming the laughing stock of the local police department but the entire internet as well. It seems he’s watched too many action films. He should probably leave those stunts to the professionals.
