Joy Behar Says Clarence Thomas And Tim Scott Don’t Understand Being Black

During an episode of “The View,” Joy Behar adamantly told Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and Senator Tim Scott that they don’t understand being black in America. However, that didn’t end well for the ABC talk show host.

On an episode of The View, Joy Behar decided to lecture two highly respected black conservatives, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, on racism and its effect on people of color. Behar absurdly asserted that neither Justice Thomas nor Senator Scott — both black men — could truly comprehend the reality of being a black man in the United States.

“[Tim Scott] is one of these guys who — you know, he’s like Clarence Thomas — a black Republican who believes in pulling yourself by your bootstraps rather than, to me, understanding the systemic racism that African Americans face in this country and other minorities,” Behar said. “[Tim Scott] doesn’t get it,” she continued. “Neither does Clarence, and that’s why they’re Republicans.”

Co-host Sunny Hostin agreed with Joy Behar’s assertion, which is not surprising given that both Behar and Hostin previously lambasted Justice Thomas on the show. Hostin, who is biracial, previously asserted that Justice Thomas didn’t truly “represent” the black community while Behar accused him of being “to the right of Attila the Hun.”

Whoopi Goldberg also targeted Justice Thomas previously. Following the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision, overturning Roe v. Wade, Goldberg claimed that interracial marriages could be the next to face legal challenges. “You better hope they don’t come for you, Clarence,” she said, making note of the fact that Justice Thomas is married to a white woman.

As for Joy Behar, her remarks regarding Justice Thomas and Senator Scott were savagely mocked on social media, where she received harsh criticism from Zeek Arkham, an African American police officer and podcaster. “Is anybody else sick and tired of The View?” Arkham asked. “This is why I say, liberal women, especially white liberal women are the most racist people on the planet,” he continued.

“Joy Behar, a white Italian-Jewish woman from Brooklyn, who grew up in the really good part of Brooklyn, and now lives out in the Hamptons somewhere, is gonna explain to Tim Scott, a man who grew up in South Carolina, is gonna explain to Clarence Thomas, a man who grew up in Savannah, Georgia, she’s gonna break [racism] down to them?” Arkham further blasted Behar. “These best friends of Whoopi, sitting there on the panel going ‘Oh yes girl you’re so great!’ No, you’re not. You’re dumb!” he declared. “And you think you’re gonna break down racism to these two black men because you’re a liberal Democrat and they just don’t get it?”

“So, now you’re gonna be the authority [on racism],” Arkham added. “I swear this is the worst TV show on television right now. This is an example of why the Democrat Party and why liberals and leftists are so toxic. This is it! You all watching this show and if you support this, you are just as racist and oppressive as they are. You’re part of the problem if you support this.”

Martin Matthews, who is also African American, also blasted the ABC cohost On Twitter. “Joy knows black people better than we know ourselves,” he wrote. “She is an authority on being black. How can we ever question Sweet Joy who despite blacks creating success, she still lets the world know how oppressed we are. It’s very kind of her to tell us we’re oppressed… #JoyKnowsBlacks.”

Another social media user weighed in on Behar’s remarks, criticizing The View. “I have to wonder how anyone with even a modicum of common decency could continue to watch them spew their hatred, divisiveness, and racist remarks day in and day out,” Pam Bible posted. “Their audience is just as hateful as they are. Takes ‘mean girl’ to a whole new level.”

Joy Behar is a white woman. Her assertion that Tim Scott and Clarence Thomas don’t get what it’s like to be a black man in America is absurd. Why are wealthy, old white people pushing this nonsense? They do not walk in the shoes of a black or brown American, so how would they know? They are the reason there is so much division in this country.
