A woman has shockingly undergone dozens of procedures in her quest to achieve the “world’s biggest lips.” After seeing her before photos compared to how she looks now, many have had unkind criticisms — and if you are one of those who don’t like what she’s done, she has a message for you.
Andrea Ivanova, a young Bulgarian woman who hails from the city of Sofia, set a goal for her appearance, but it’s a questionable one. According to an article by the New York Post written when the woman was 24 years old and about to have her 27th lip injection to further enhance her already enlarged pout, Andrea had hoped the procedure would help her look more like a Bratz doll.
With the woman already having the “biggest lips in the world,” many were perplexed about her decision to make her already ginormous kisser even bigger, but that’s the way Andrea wants them. “I like them a lot and feel much better,” she said, speaking of her questionable body modification. Seeing how she looked before, only furthers the confusion for many.
Several years ago, Andrea Ivanova first began receiving lip filler because she was feeling insecure about her so-called thin lips. However, not many would criticize the woman’s pout as “thin” when viewing her before pictures. Regardless, Andrea said she immediately gained a sense of self-confidence and more attention from men with her new and improved pout.
“Many men from all over the world would write to me on my social media networks offering me money, trips, and inviting me to meetings all the time,” Andrea recalled. The improved self-confidence along with the increased male attention seemingly proved addictive with the woman wanting more — and more is what she got.
As the size of Andrea’s lips grew, so did her social media following. In fact, she has more than tripled her followers on Instagram in recent years with the Post noting that she had just 9,000 followers in 2021, where 2023 saw her clocking nearly 30,000 fans on the platform. Many seem to be infatuated men who are enamored by her ultra-large lips and who inundate the Bulgarian beauty’s comment section with flattery.
“I really love your lips,” one such man fawned beneath a photo of Andrea posing for the camera while another exclaimed, “You are gorgeous, a total babe!” Yet another male admirer swooned, “Fantastic. I would love to be the man who has the honor to have [a] wonderful dinner with you…let me know…”
While some social media users seem enamored by her plump pout, there are plenty who are much more critical. Frequent criticisms include comparing Andrea’s before pictures to her current pout, saying that she looked better before, while others question if she will push her lips too far, causing them to burst, and others question the expense of such a drastic change.
However, according to the Post, Andrea said she “isn’t worried about her big lips bursting, despite having more than two dozen procedures.” As for the cost, the outlet estimated, “With each of her injections costing around $265 USD, Ivanova has spent more than $5,000 perfecting her pout.” Of course, the word choice of “perfecting,” depends on who you ask.
It also appears that her lips aren’t the only area Andrea Ivanova has had cosmetically enhanced. She also reportedly “paid a visit to her doctor for a face lengthening and contouring procedure in order to alter the shape of her chin and jawline, costing her around $660.” And, by the look of her photos, a couple of other things might have been enlarged as well.
In addition to seemingly being addicted to altering her appearance through cosmetic procedures, Andrea also seems to thoroughly enjoy the media attention it gets her as well. In fact, her plump pout isn’t the only thing she likes to post for her legion of lip-loving followers. She also shares copious posts featuring screenshots of articles written about her controversial appearance from around the world as she seemingly eats up the attention.
Of course, as previously mentioned, not everyone is a fan of her enhancements. Instead, she’s also “subjected to attacks from cruel trolls” with some suggesting she needs “serious mental help” while other detractors flat out call the woman “disgusting.” However, for the most part, Andrea Ivanova seems unbothered by the opinions of others.
“I can’t give any indication of how big is too big, or can lips be too big, because for each person, ‘big,’ ‘bigger’ and ‘too big’ are different concepts,” Andrea said, shrugging off her critics in 2019 when she had had just 15 injections and was already being questioned about how far she would go with the fillers.
However, what Andrea Ivanova said next is perhaps the most important takeaway from her transformational journey. “There are people who like me with bigger lips, and there are people who like me with smaller lips,” she acknowledged before adding, “but it doesn’t matter to me, because it’s important for me, how I like it.”
Indeed, what matters most about the woman’s appearance is how she feels about it, and while her lips might not be my preference, her attitude about it seems to be something I can support. She seems to understand and accept that not everyone will be a fan, and while she is free to do whatever she wants with her body, others are free to express their opinions when she puts it on public display.
