The dean of a North Carolina university shocked the community when she announced an event for “staff of color ONLY,” banning white participants. However, she was soon called out when her dirty little secret was exposed.

In an ironic effort to defeat racism, Wake Forest University dean Michele Gillespie announced a series of “listening sessions” that exclude anyone who isn’t seen as a racial minority. The event was created in an apparent attempt to stop the “white supremacy” that allegedly has taken over the private school located in Winston-Salem, according to The College Fix.

“Dear faculty and staff colleagues, this is a reminder about our upcoming listening sessions on inclusion that I am holding for faculty and staff of color over the next several weeks,” Michele Gillespie wrote in an email to campus employees.

The event was announced with the stipulation that it was “for staff who identify as staff of color ONLY,” intentionally prohibiting white faculty members from attending the segregated course. The series seemed to be in response to a small group of students and professors forming a protest against white supremacy.

As for the campus protest, the Winston-Salem Journal reported that “a coalition of students, faculty and staff at Wake Forest University demanded Monday that university officials immediately begin a zero-tolerance policy for white supremacy after several developments in recent months heightened concerns about racism on campus.”

After decades of battling racial segregation, the college elites are attempting to destroy our nation’s progress by once again dividing us into intersectional groups. It is this enactment of identity politics that suggests that people can be easily labeled as victims or oppressors based solely on externalities, flagrantly disregarding the individual qualities and characteristics that make us so diverse.

Although the Greeks intended for the university to be a cultivator of diverse thought, the modern-day professors have turned campuses across the United States into political factories. Sadly, the greatest concepts of freedom and equality that the West has created are now being sacrificed for perverse ideas of equity.

Although Gillespie spearheaded the event in an apparent bid to appear as an ally of racial minorities, her family secret soon surfaced. Despite desperately trying to present herself as anti-racist, it is her closest relationship that’s landed her in hot water with both the press and her campus.

According to the Winston-Salem Journal, a photo from the 1983-1984 WFU yearbook recently resurfaced, showing Gillespie’s husband Kevin Pittard proudly posing with a massive Confederate battle flag, which some are calling racist. Strangely enough, the photo appears to contain not one “person of color.” Incredibly, Pittard is now the associate dean of admissions at Wake Forest, working alongside his wife Gillespie in her effort to stomp out perceived racism.

Although Gillespie’s husband is clearly identifiable in the controversial photograph, he somehow managed to escape reprimand, despite students calling for the termination of dean Martha Allman, who posed in front of the same flag the year before.

“That flag was a symbol of pain and racism then just as it is now, and I understand that much differently in 2019 than I did in 1982,” Allman said in the apology, which was posted on the university’s website. “Thirty-seven years of life, experiences, relationships and education have made a difference in my way of understanding the world and my ability to empathize with those who are different from me.”

Although Allman issued a lengthy and seemingly sincere apology, students continued to demand her resignation, fearing that she could not be unbiased. However, Pittard has yet to issue even a statement on the photo and still holds his associate dean of admissions title.

Aside from discriminating against white staffers, Wake Forest University has been found to perpetuate politically left biases against conservative students. (Photo Credit: Facebook)

Of course, where there’s smoke, there’s usually fire. Indeed, Wake Forest hasn’t only been caught openly discriminating against white individuals. In fact, a recent poll on the NC campus shows that over 80 percent of conservative students have experienced bias from professors for their political views. Additionally, 50 percent have been intimidated into silence for fear of being academically punished for their values.

Wake Forest claims to be fighting bias, despite openly discriminating against its students and staff members. Of course, this standard doesn’t extend to Michele Gillespie and her husband. But, we suspect that’s the upside of being in a position of privilege that they could’ve easily given to a person of color.
