Meghan Markle got torched by many in the British press over a bombshell lawsuit, claiming the former Suits star lied to the Royal Family, the media, and TV interviewers about her “rags to royalty” narrative.

Meghan Markle’s half-sister Samantha dropped a bombshell when she filed a lawsuit against her famous sibling alleging Meghan’s “rags to royalty” narrative is “total BS.” According to the Daily Mail, “Samantha paints a picture of the Duchess weaving a ‘rags to riches’ story together while attacking her sister and father to maintain the narrative.”
Samantha also “claims the defendant had ‘fabricated’ details of her background to the Royal Family, the media, and during TV interviews,” the Daily Mail reported. “She cites Meghan’s appearances on Oprah and Ellen in the US as occasions where she ‘falsely claimed… she essentially raised herself from virtual poverty.'”

Meghan has publicly said she paid for her own college tuition. “It was through scholarships, financial aid programs, and work-study where my earnings from a job on campus went directly towards my tuition, that I was able to attend university,” Meghan said in her first royal speech, adding, “without question, it was worth every effort.” She also told Oprah and Ellen DeGeneres the same story.
In the court documents obtained by TMZ, Samantha claims their father Thomas paid for Meghan to attend dance and acting classes, as well as “elite and expensive private schools.” Samantha also alleges her father covered Meghan’s tuition fees at Northwestern University, despite Meghan claiming she paid her way through college. Meghan also attended the exclusive Immaculate Heart High School whose current tuition is listed as $18,825.

Reports claim, per Meghan’s own defunct website The Tig, she was able to attend this prestigious high school because her father, Thomas Markle, won the lottery in 1990. However, Thomas Markle was also an award-winning lighting director for Married with Children. This would seemingly back up the claims made by Samantha, who also alleged her sister tried to ruin their credibility so “they could not interfere with or contradict the false narrative and fairy tale life story concocted by the defendant.”
“Samantha says her sister’s claim [that] she was forced from the age of 13 to work in a series of low-paying jobs to ‘make ends meet’ was untrue,” Daily Mail reported. “The document also lists Meghan’s claims she had no siblings, little contact with her family, and that her family could only afford the $4.99 salad at Sizzlers as incorrect. Samantha claims [her half-sister] launched a ‘premeditated campaign to destroy her and her father’s reputation.'”
Reporter Dan Wootton is the host of GB News and a columnist with MailOnline. He has been following the Meghan saga from the beginning. “In my many conversations with Samantha Markle over these past few years, she has never told me a lie. Every single thing she told me, even before the wedding, were proven to be true. Meghan, on the other hand, how long is her nose by now?” Wootton posted on social media. “And given Meghan and Harry know A LOT about spurious lawsuits, there is something quite hilarious about Samantha playing them at their own game!” Wootton added.
Meghan’s attorney Michael Kump told TMZ, “This baseless and absurd lawsuit is just a continuation of a pattern of disturbing behavior. We will give it the minimum attention necessary, which is all it deserves.”

Noted British journalist Piers Morgan also weighed in after the Oprah interview. “I’m sorry, I don’t believe a word she said, Meghan Markle. I wouldn’t believe it if she read me a weather report,” Morgan stated. “Effectively I was censored at my previous job and told to apologize to Meghan Markle for an honestly held opinion, which obviously I wasn’t going to do,” he furthered. “Pushy little Princess Pinocchio tried her utmost to cancel me, and she will be in for a very unpleasant surprise when I emerge, like Lazarus, from my den,” Morgan added.
According to the Daily Beast, “Nothing is off-limits if the duchess is deposed,” a source told the paper. “Everything will be forensically challenged. For sure, Samantha hopes Meghan will be tested on all aspects of the Oprah program, including claims she made about the royals… being racist.”
