After a man lost his dentures, he looked under the table to see a dog smiling back at him. He grabbed his camera and captured photos of the canine’s grin, and they have left social media users laughing out loud.
MagsterMooMoo, or Maggie for short, is an adorable Shihtzu, Poodle, Chihuahua mix who’s living her best life in Long Island, New York. For Maggie, squirrels are the enemy and treats are life, or so her Instagram account says. The little “lover of naps,” as she’s described, is quite the princess, doted on by her devoted owner Eunice — better known as “Magster’s Momager.”
Unfortunately, Eunice has to work and is also a grad student, so she can’t be with Maggie every moment of every day. Luckily, that doesn’t mean the curious canine has to spend her days alone. Since Eunice lives downstairs at her parents’ house, Maggie has a built-in babysitter while her “Momager” is away. The pampered pup is looked after by her “grandpaw,” Eunice’s dad. But, it’s not always an easy task, keeping the curious pup out of trouble.
Just like human children, this fur-baby gets into her fair share of trouble, and such was the case when her grandpaw, who happens to wear dentures, decided to take a nap while looking after his four-legged grandchild one afternoon. As he drifted off into silent slumber, he made one mistake, thinking his dentures would be safe in the living room.
Apparently, the dentures were spotted by the dog, and once Eunice’s dad’s eyes were closed, Maggie made her move. “My dad decided to take an afternoon nap and rather than put his dentures in the bathroom, he left them on a napkin on the end of the couch,” Eunice told Buzzfeed. “While he was sleeping, Maggie must have jumped up and grabbed them.”
When Eunice’s dad woke up and realized his dentures were missing, he went on a search to find his lost teeth. He spotted Maggie under the living room table, and looking as innocent as she could, she grinned up at him — with a brand new smile as she proudly wore his dentures in her mouth perfectly. Seeing Maggie’s mischievous grin, Eunice’s dad grabbed his phone.
As Eunice sat at work, she received a text from her dad, explaining what had happened, complete with pictures of the incident. “I was in tears laughing and showing all of my coworkers,” Eunice admitted. Although she got quite the chuckle out of the ordeal, it would be some time before the rest of the internet got to enjoy the sight of Maggie trying on her grandpaw’s choppers.
“You guyssss! A few months ago my dog, Maggie, stole my dad’s dentures while he was napping (his gums had been hurting him so he took them out mid-afternoon) and he found her like this. Lmfaooo I’m deadddd rn remembering this,” Eunice tweeted, along with the photos, months after the incident.
“At the time, I wasn’t very active on Twitter and never even thought to tweet it until recently,” Eunice explained. When she did finally post the photos, they quickly went viral, shared tens of thousands of times. MagsterMooMoo soon became an internet sensation with her own Instagram account, where her fans can follow more of the Shitzhu mix’s shenanigans.
Of course, one question remains. How did grandpaw feel about his false teeth being in Maggie’s mouth? After all, her tongue does serve as her washcloth, which is not an appetizing thought for even the biggest animal lover. Not to mention, dentures aren’t cheap. Luckily, Eunice’s dad wasn’t mad.
Apparently, he’s well aware Maggie can be a little rebellious, and he thought the incident perfectly fit her spunky personality. It also helps that the dentures weren’t damaged, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the rightful owner would want to wear them after previously watching Maggie clean her backside with the same mouth that was just all over his falsies.
I know, I know, they say a dog’s mouth is cleaner than a human’s — but they still lick things we wouldn’t. And, as it turns out, the belief that man’s best friend has better oral hygiene than the man himself is a myth. You really don’t want your dog’s germs getting inside your mouth, which could have been very bad news for grandpaw.
Thankfully, Eunice’s dad was already in the process of getting new ones, so it all worked out. Although it’s unknown whether MagsterMooMoo got to keep the old ones, we think it’s a safe bet grandpaw won’t leave his new teeth within Maggie’s mischievious reach. And, the unforgettable photos serve as a reminder for the rest of us to keep our valuables safe from our curious canines.
