After plowing through a stop sign at 60 mph, a drunk driver told cops that she is “very clean” and just too “pretty” to go to jail. However, once the judge heard her excuse, the girl received a ruling no one expected.

When 34-year-old realtor Lauren Elizabeth Cutshaw barreled through a stop sign at 64 mph in the early morning hours, she was quickly pulled over by a South Carolina police officer. The officer observed Cutshaw slurring her words, obviously from some sort of substance abuse. After ordering her out of her vehicle, it became clear why she was driving so erratically.

A Breathalyzer test showed Cutshaw’s blood-alcohol level at 0.18 percent, which is over twice the legal limit. The officer then found marijuana and rolling papers in her car. Knowing that she was busted, the intoxicated driver then confessed to the Bluffton officer that she had smoked a joint earlier that evening, stating, “I mean, I was celebrating my birthday.”

Of course, Cutshaw’s justification for her dangerous behavior didn’t end there. Realizing that she was being placed under arrest, the young woman began to give a slew of absurd and pretentious reason that the officer shouldn’t take her to jail. First, she told the officer that she graduated from a “high accredited university” and had “perfect grades her whole life.” When that didn’t work, she reminded him that she was a “very clean, thoroughbred white girl,” according to Inside Edition.

“I graduated from a really good, a really good university. I was almost the valedictorian. I graduated with a 3.8 in my high school and got a scholarship to my college. I was an all-American cheerleader. I mean, I didn’t miss a beat my whole life,” she said. “I’ve never been to jail. Please, I don’t want to know what it’s like.”

Having bought into the propaganda of systematic racism in law enforcement, Cutshaw was shocked when the officer dismissed her ridiculous assertions. As a last effort, she finally told him, “My partner is a cop,” identifying him as married businessman Nickey Maxey, Daily Mail reports. After rumors began swirling, Maxey later cleared up that he is Cutshaw’s business partner and not her romantic interest.

“I’m an old geezer who is very happily married with a wife and three kids,” he said. He then joked that the idea of having a young girlfriend should be included in the story because it “might be good PR” for him.

Although Cutshaw’s argument fell flat with the police officer, who admitted he was a bit “taken aback” by her narcissism, she wasn’t done trying to avoid her just consequences. Cutshaw was determined to garner the judge’s sympathy.

“Making statements such as these as a means to justify not being arrested are unusual in my experience as a law enforcement officer and I believe further demonstrate the suspect’s level of intoxication,” the officer wrote.

After hearing Cutshaw’s inane justifications, the judge delivered a ruling that came as an outrage to the public. Despite excusing her behavior with her race and continuing to drive with a suspended license, Cutshaw received no jail time and was given her license back. The sentence was delivered after Cutshaw pleaded guilty to misdemeanor DUI, allowing her to pay $187, take alcohol safety classes, and perform just 24 hours of community service

Before the ruling, investigative reporters caught Cutshaw on video driving her Ford Fusion while her license was suspended pending her hearing. Still, the evidence never seemed to make its way into the judge’s decision, leaving Cutshaw to likely believe her previous assertions about the justice system.

Cutshaw endangered lives and showed no remorse for her actions, even illegally driving around the same vehicle after her arrest. She has evaded justice without learning her lesson and subsequently will almost assuredly re-offend. Sadly, despite the officer’s attempt to prove to Cutshaw that Lady Justice is blind, the court system delivered her the opposite message.
