A prolific pedophile was found with over 100 sickening child abuse images but avoided jail time, thanks to a policy that gave the sexual predator another chance. When the 52-year-old man was caught again, he was placed in prison where he got “divine justice.”

The real-life story of Graham Scobie, 52, is a cautionary tale of what happens when pedophiles are treated like low-level criminals. The sexual predator was caught with “nearly 100 sick child abuse images and 10 different Facebook accounts” at his home in Irvine, Ayrshire, but he avoided jail time.

“Scobie was spared jail, and placed on a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) after he was caught with almost 100 sick images and horrific films of children being abused on his laptop,” Ardrossan Herald reported. At the time, Deputy Prosecutor Kirsty Urquhart warned the court that Scobie was a danger to children.

“He has admitted to accessing and sharing material for some time,” the prosecutor said. “He has admitted to having deviant sexual interests, in particular an interest in young teenage boys. [Scobie] spends his days walking around parks and going to museums. He repeatedly puts himself in situations where he could come into contact with children. His laptop has been examined by police and there is evidence that he accessed porn on a daily basis, especially barely legal and young males.”

The deputy prosecutor wasn’t done outlining Scobie’s dangerous behavior. “He has 10 separate Facebook accounts with different profile pictures and names,” Prosecutor Urquhart declared. “His friends on all of them are all male. Some are young adult males who look very young. He confirmed to officers that he engaged in sexual chat with some of these friends.”

Scobie’s attorney came to his defense hoping to spare him prison, and it seemed to work. “Mr. Scobie accepts that he was wrong in his conduct – though the [social work] report does not accord with that,” they said. “He is vulnerable and requires help with many aspects of his life,” they added. As previously stated, Scobie was spared jail and placed on a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO).

Scobie was quickly caught re-offending, and this time he was going to prison. “The 52-year-old was given a strict Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) and placed on the register but was snared for a second time during a routine inspection of his laptop,” Daily Record reported. “Officers discovered a further five abuse images, which included the rape of a seven-year-old boy by an adult male, and an undisclosed Skye account under the alias ‘Joe Bloggs.'”

Scobie’s attorney urged the sheriff to “give credit to the early timing of his guilty plea,” but added, “There is nothing more I can say.”  Sheriff Shirley Foran told the “unmanageable” pedophile that there was “no value in considering a community [program].” Sheriff Foran explained the policy was no longer available, considering Scobie’s prolific pedophile crimes.

Scobie was remanded into prison, and it only took one year for “divine justice” to come calling. After 12 months in custody, the prison announced he was “found dead.” The only clue to Scobie’s demise was found in his death announcement. “Graham Robert Scobie, 52, a prisoner from HMP Dumfries Prison has died,” said the official statement. “A Fatal Accident Inquiry will be held in due course,” they added. “Fatal Accident Inquiries” are ordered only if the death is not by “natural causes.”

Inmates have their own hierarchy in the prison system with child molesters and sex offenders on the bottom of the totem pole. “Though prison officials in some [states] question the idea of an automatic social hierarchy among prisoners based solely upon their offenses, most agree that if there is one, child molesters and informants — derided as “snitches” — occupy the lowest rungs,” ABC News reported.
